The AssetMantle team has been relentlessly working to provide you with the best possible NFT minting and trading experience possible. With the goal of providing you with a hands-on experience with the Mantleplace, the DevNet for the NFT trading platform has been released!
This will act as a playground for those that wish to experience the protocol as a platform user, token holder, or creator. By getting to know the AssetMantle DevNet, you will be able to get a good understanding of how the platform works and have a glance at some of its features.
This post is intended to give you a visual overview of the DevNet experience and get you started on what it takes to become a Mantler.
Sign up procedure
One of the benefits of using the MantlePlace is its streamlined Signup and Login procedures. Creating an account on the platform is extremely easy, as long as you have one of the following:
- A Keystore file for your AssetMantle Keplr wallet. This can be created directly from the login interface or you can use one you have previously created with your wallet.
- An Active Keplr wallet browser extension.
- A Ledger Hardware wallet.
For the sake of practicality, we will be using the Keplr extension to create an account today. Follow the instructions below to sign up:
Step 1: Click the Sign-Up button on the top of the website.
Step 2: Provide a username for your account. Make sure you remember this login info as it will allow you to connect to the platform at a later time.
Step 3: Choose the Keplr option to create your account and approve all the transaction requests on the app.
That’s it, once you’ve approved the transactions in your Keplr wallet, the platform will link your username to your wallet and you will be able to browse its features.
At your first login, you will notice that the platform provides you with 1000 $MNTL so you can test out the minting and trading features of the Mantleplace. Worth noting is that these $MNTL tokens are exclusive to the DevNet, are for testing purposes, and have no real value.
Now that you are logged onto the platform, the fun can finally begin!
Creating an NFT on MantlePlace DevNet
Let’s initially explore how to create an NFT using the DevNet.
Step 1: Click on the “Create NFT” tab at the top of the website. This will open the NFT creation tool, where you can customize the features of your asset before you mint it on the DevNet.
Step 2: Build your NFT:
- Provide an image
- Choose the category
- Give it a name and a short description.
- Add some attributes.
When ready, click on “Submit” and sign the transaction with your Keplr wallet. The platform will process this almost instantly and populate your “Assets” tab with your newly minted NFT.
Sell an NFT on the Mantleplace
Once you have created your NFT, you can now put it up for sale for the other users of the platform. The process is extremely streamlined, just follow these steps:
Step 1: In your “Collections” tab, click on the “View” button to open the NFT’s details.
Step 2: In this new window, click on the “Sell” button.
Step 3: Set a price for your NFT, click “Submit” and sign the transaction with your Keplr wallet.
That’s it, your asset will appear in the marketplace, as well as in your “Assets” tab under the “My Listings” category.
Finally, let’s have a look at how you can cancel the listing you created.
Canceling an Auction
Step 1: To cancel your listing, first go to your “Assets” tab under “My Listings” and select the listing you wish to cancel.
Step 2: Click “Cancel Order” and confirm your choice by signing the transaction with your Keplr wallet.
Once your order has been canceled, your NFT will reappear in the “My Collections” tab, and disappear from the marketplace and “My Listings”.
Buying an NFT on AssetMantle’s DevNet
Let’s wrap this walkthrough with the buying experience on the DevNet. Just like the other features we explored, buying NFTs on the Mantleplace is entirely streamlined and beginner-friendly. Simply follow these steps:
Step 1: First, select the NFT you want to purchase and click the “View” button.
Step 2: The next window will show you the details and price of the NFT you wish to purchase. Click the “Buy” button to proceed and confirm your purchase by clicking “Submit”
Step 3: Once the transaction is complete, the NT will appear into your “My Collections” tab.
